NEW!! Only one qualifying meet is required before the State Cup. However, the qualifying meet MUST be from the MA master qualifying calendar. Out of state meets will NOT be accepted as a qualifier to State Cups.
Xcel State Cup - XS and XG - NEW - IMPORTANT!!
Due to high numbers of registered gymnasts in XS and XG, and numbers exceeding what can be completed in one weekend, we are moving to State Cup qualification to State Championships for the 2016-2017 season. This was proposed and discussed in detail at the June meeting that was open to all professional members as well as via survey sent out in July.
For XS and XG only - the state will be split into three equal sized "districts" which will compete in State Cups. A pre-determined % of gymnasts will qualify from each of the State Cups to the State Championships in May. Regional Qualification will take place at the State Championships.
XG State Cups will take place April 1-2, 2017 XS State Cups will take place April 8-9, 2017
Bids for State Cup hosts (three per weekend) will be available in early November.
Due to the new entry and mobility chart posted in R&P, we have been contacted by a large number of you that these new requirements are a safety concern for your athletes - for example (but not limited to these examples) - the Level 3 that has to directly enter XG, or the former Level 7 choosing to move to Xcel that must enter XD. If the mobility chart does not safely fit your gymnast, please email email@example.com (for our records) with your gymnasts name, former level, requested level, and why.
